Who is responsible

Visiting the website

To deliver pages and protect the site against attacks, our hosting provider processes the data your browser sends with every request: IP address, time, requested address, browser and device information. This data is kept only as long as delivery and security require.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in delivering the site securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Recipient: Cloudflare, Inc., USA, as our processor. Transfers to the USA are based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR); Cloudflare is certified under it.

The waitlist

When you join the waitlist on this site, or your AI agent does it for you through the Protoship MCP server, we store:

• your email address (required, otherwise we cannot reach you),
• what you want to order and the device you want to build, if you told us (optional),
• how and when you signed up and confirmed, and the consent text you saw, as proof of your consent.

Purpose: confirming your address and inviting you once Protoship opens to you.

Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), given with the form or through your agent and confirmed by clicking the link in the confirmation email. You can withdraw it at any time with an email to silas@protoship.dev; we then delete your entry. Withdrawal does not affect processing before it.

Storage: the waitlist is stored in the EU with Cloudflare as our processor. Signups that are not confirmed are deleted after 30 days. Confirmed entries stay until you withdraw your consent or we close the waitlist.

Reservations

When you reserve a device on this site, or your AI agent does it for you through the Protoship MCP server or API, we store your email address, the device (parts, enclosure, number of units, delivery country, estimated price), what it is for if you told us, and how and when you reserved and confirmed, with the text you saw.

Purpose: confirming your address and contacting you about your reservation, in particular when the device can be ordered. A reservation puts you on the waitlist as well.

Legal basis: steps you ask for before a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). You can cancel your reservation at any time with an email to silas@protoship.dev; we then delete it.

Storage: in the EU with Cloudflare as our processor. Reservations that are not confirmed are deleted after 30 days, the others when you cancel them or once they are ordered or we close reservations.

Emails from Protoship

Our emails are sent through Postmark, run by AC PM LLC (ActiveCampaign), USA, as our processor. Postmark processes your email address and the content of the email in the USA. Transfers are based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR); ActiveCampaign is certified under it.

Writing to us

If you email us, we use your message and address to answer you. Our mailbox runs on Google Workspace, provided by Google Cloud EMEA Limited, Ireland, as our processor. Data may also be processed by Google LLC in the USA, based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR).

Legal basis: steps you ask for before a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), otherwise our legitimate interest in answering you (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We delete messages once they are no longer needed, unless tax or commercial law requires us to keep them.

Your right to object

Where we rely on legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you can object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). Write to silas@protoship.dev.

Your other rights

You have the right to access your data (Art. 15 GDPR), to have it corrected (Art. 16) or deleted (Art. 17), to restrict its processing (Art. 18) and to receive it in a portable format (Art. 20). Email silas@protoship.dev.
